What do you do with your readers’ email addresses?
Nothing! If you choose to subscribe by email, you’ll get a notification when a new post goes up. That’s pretty much it. I will never sign you up for anything you didn’t give your express permission to receive, nor will I ever sell, trade, or otherwise share your email address with a third party.
How do your affiliate links work?
Right now, I’m part of Etsy and Wordery’s affiliate programs. This means that, when I link back to their sites, I can potentially earn some money to help keep this site running.
It works like this: Each link has my special code attached to it, which lets the retailers know when I direct people to their products. If you click on an affiliate link and choose to buy something, I can earn a percentage of the cost of the product as a sort of “finder’s fee.” (Don’t worry, though — this doesn’t affect how much you’re charged.) If you don’t choose to buy anything just yet, the retailer will remember you for up to 30 days in case you change your mind and come back. It does this using cookies.
Some people prefer not to let cookies stick around, in which case it’s pretty easy to remove them. If you remove them and re-visit the retailer’s site without clicking on one of my affiliate links again, I won’t be eligible to earn anything off of any purchases you make at that time.
I’ve heard that real witches should never charge for their services. Why do you charge for tarot readings?
Things were a bit different back in the day. Witches and other wise people didn’t charge money the way we think about it today, but still received support from the people they helped. Today, bartering isn’t as widely practiced — especially between people who don’t live near each other. It takes time, supplies, and knowledge in order to practice witchcraft, all of which mean money. The easiest thing to do is to request payment so that I can afford to continue to offer what I do.
Can I send you something?
As long as it’s available in a digital format, sure! I don’t yet have a P.O. box, however, so I am unable to accept packages at this time.
